The Milford Diaper Bank was established to keep local babies healthy and happy by providing access to diapers for families in need and promoting partner agency programs to improve health and self-sufficiency in our community.
One in three families struggle with diaper needs; on average a child can go through 10 to 14 diapers a day and spend an average of $100 a month on diapers. The two programs that assist low income households are the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (S.N.A.P.) and Women, Infants and Children (W.I.C.) do not cover the cost of diapers, leaving vulnerable parents with few places to turn.
Child care centers require parents to provide a day supply of disposable diapers. Many parents cannot go to work or school to further provide for their families if they cannot leave their children at daycare.
